School

Sorry not to update in a while...Luca is LOVING school. We are so grateful. He loves riding the bus, his teachers, all his new friends, and everything about it. John and I are LOVING Luca in school and having some time in the morning (whoever is not at work). Juliette is taking a solid morning nap too so all around wonderful.
Work is busy for me right now with the fall programs beginning. I sometimes wish I could just work fill time for a few weeks to get it all done but I can't. Pioneer Club is off to a great start with about 70 kids and MOPS starts on Tues! But then the days I am home I feel like a full time mom so I guess i am just both.
Still sunny and beautiful these days. I hope to start running again more regularly. John has a sprint triathlon this weekend and signed up for the Seattle 1/2 marathon!!! I am so proud of him! I will post pictures!

OH, Juliette also cut her first tooth this morning! That is the update from the Walker's house!

32nd Birthday!

I had a great birthday, John was home, Jamie made a delicious chocolate cheesecake, I went for a evening run with Mari plus pushing Luca (in the moonlight as Luca said) then and a few friends came over to take a sauna! Here are a few pictures!

Juliette is such a cutie-pie! She is sitting on her own, reaching for everything possible and completely entertained by her brother, Luca!

First day of school at Boren preschool

Looking for the bus, "I can't see it yet..."
Luca, "Mom and Dad, my bus is here!"
Luca, "I am so excited to ride the school bus and go to school"

Luca began school at Boren today. Boren is an elementary school with one preschool classroom for kids with special needs and a few typically developing peers. Luca will receive OT and PT services there as well.  Luca was outside this morning before the bus came, so excited to start the new year! I (Katie) rode on the bus with him and spent the first morning helping out in the classroom. It was great to meet the teachers and other kids. Luca is going to have a great year. Wonderful teachers and kids. He has a friend from church, Lily there too, as a peer model which is so great. The school is only 2 miles from our house. This week they are learning about transportation! When the teacher said, "As anyone been on an airplane before?" Luca said, "I have, lots of times, I went to Germany on an airplane." A few heads turned...this kid is hilarious!

sneak preview

(hard core fireman)
I got Luca's a fireman costume yesterday at a garage sale for $1! It is so cute and hard core! He wore it all afternoon yesterday (even though it was 75 degrees). Now we just need a fireman helmet and we are set! I think he will have fun dressing up in it all year long!

First Day of School

Luca  begins school tomorrow at Boren Elementary school in West Seattle. He is going to be in a preschool class for kids who have special needs with a few typically developing peers. We are excited and hope it is a great class for him!
He is also starting "Buddy School" as he named it. Jamie is starting little coop-preschool on Fridays. So Luca had his first day on this last Friday. These are his first day of school pictures. He had blast.

Luca and Finley

Our neighbor's granddaughter is visiting. She and Luca have been fast friends. Here they are fishing, so fun to  have a friend next door this week.

Sticks

Luca has quite a stick collection that I guess Juliette got into this morning...this is what came into the living room. That is a big stick for a little girl:) She is growing so fast!

Reading

Luca loves to be read to and we spend a lot of time reading together. Here are a few of those moment captured....

Luca in canoe

Visit with Grandpa Walker

Grandpa came to visit for a few days from France! Luca loved showing him around West Seattle! We went canoeing in the Sound, read stories, played outside, cleaning out the garage and built shelves, and share some great meals! It is a long way from France to Seattle and we were glad he could make the trip. Luca asked, "Can Grandpa stay at our house forever and ever!"
