Just the Men

Katie left early this morning to see her sister and new niece in NC. Luca and I are holding down the fort. Thankfully, Nana and Popeye are here to take care of Luca when I go back to work on Thursday. Luca is now walking everywhere and all the time. It's very exciting and lots of work. It requires someone being right next to him all the time so he dose not fall. He is still quite unsteady. Luca can't stand up on his own yet, but lets us know that he wants to walk,

"I want walking, I want walking, I want walking, I want walking, I want walking, I want walking, I want walking, I want walking, I want walking...".

Visit with Nana Walker

Nana Walker came to visit! And Happy Birthday John!


We had a great visit with Nana Walker, the only bummer was that she was sick. Luca loved getting so spend time with her! And so did we!
We went out for dinner at Chinook's for John's birthday on Feb. 15th. He is officially in his last year of the twenties. Live it up Johnny Walker!
I also have some BIG news that I wanted to post with the video but the video will just have to come later....LUCA is walking or at least getting close! He can take about 5 steps on his own before falling into your arms. He is still a little off balance but it is all happening and we are so grateful!

New Monkey:
John took Luca with him to Walgreens to get milk yesterday and came home with this life size monkey! Luca saw it as soon as he went in the store and went crazy over it; for $19.99- just too hard to resist. So now we need a name. Any suggestions? Please comment away. A monkey this big should really have a name.

A visit with old friends

My college roomies, Tavia and Brooke came over two days ago. It was a huge treat because Brooke just got back from over a year in Haiti and Tavia lives a bit north of Seattle and has two little ones! So to be together was a huge treat and a lot of fun to catch up with each other. I guess you can tell who Magdalene was hoping would win the super bowl, and they did.
In the last picture Luca is playing with the dog Grandma Bev gave him. He loves pushing the paw himself and then the dog sings and wiggles his ears. It is so cute!

Luca and my dad, Popeye, went to Minnesota for the weekend to visit family while John and I were in San Francisco. We all had a great time. Luca was covered with kids, cousins, aunts, uncles and fun! Here are a few pictures from their trip.

Baby Sophia (Luca's Cousin) has arrived!

We are so glad that Luca's new cousin, Baby Sophia, has finally arrived. After being a week and 1/2 late and a 20 hour labor she is here. 8 pounds 12 ounces and 21 inches long. I can't wait to meet her at the end of Feb!
